Even though I have lived in Chicago for about 3 years now, it is still super fun to visit some of the more touristy spots from time to time. I have been to Navy Pier several times, but usually only venture there now when I have a guest in town, or to see the fireworks in the summer. When I spotted a deal for the Amazing Chicago's Funhouse Maze, I was intrigued enough to want to brave the crowds at Navy Pier to check it out.
The Funhouse boasts that over 1.5 million people have gotten lost and I was excited for my boyfriend and I to become two of those people. I pride myself on a good sense of direction, so I didn't think we would be stuck for too long.
As it turns out, the maze is not as easy as we previously thought! The part we got stuck in the longest was a dimly room filled with mirrors, passageways, and red and green lazer lights. We walked around and around through the mirrored passageways for what felt like forever before we figured out how to get to the next part.
With our deal, we also got tickets for the Atomic Rush game, an arcade game with bulbs that light up and have to be hit by the player. Between two and four people can compete to see who can hit the most lights in the allotted time. Of course I won.
It can be really fun to become a tourist for a day from time to time in the city where you live. In the case of the maze, it was especially fun to get out of the house and try to find our way out of the maze together. Not your average date! Want to get lost and try your luck at finding your way out the maze?
