Casa Luisa is a family run hotel in La Ceiba, a town along the northern coast of Honduras. It is small and intimate, with a friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere.
The Room
I booked a private Queen room for my stay in La Ceiba. The room featured a private bathroom with a shower, and came with all the necessary shower amenities. There were two extra twin beds in my Queen room. While my boyfriend and I had no need of them, they would be useful for a family visiting La Ceiba. The room also had a desk, useful for travelers who need a workspace. Below is a list of the features of the Queen room:
- TV
- Cable Channels
- Telephone
- Air conditioning
- Iron
- Desk
- Dressing Room
- Flat-screen TV
- Wardrobe/Closet
- Garden view
- Drying rack for clothing
- Free WiFi
- Free private parking
The Property
The hotel has its own private parking area for guests to use, free of charge. This is a great feature for those driving to La Ceiba from other parts of Honduras, or who have rented a car. They also have a cafe and shop next door. This is convenient if you get hungry or if you want to purchase some clothing.
The property is clean and well kept. Outside, they have a small garden and a beautiful ivy-covered wall. Upstairs in the house, there is an outdoor terrace. We enjoyed our complimentary breakfast here. It was nice to be able to eat outdoors while feeling the breezes. They also have a lounge area and a bar for guests to enjoy.
If you happen to realize you forgot to pack a small essential item, there is a large grocery store located just across the street.
Location
Casa Luisa is perfectly located for exploring the coastal town of La Ceiba. It is close to the Main Street in town, and only a few blocks from the ocean. For those visiting La Ceiba for Carnaval, the hotel is just two blocks from the parade and the biggest party on the last day!
Complimentary Breakfast
My booking at Casa Luisa came with a complimentary breakfast. The night before, the staff asked us for our order and the time we wanted the food to be prepared. We ordered two baleadas, a traditional Honduran dish. In the morning, we went up to the dining area, where tea and coffee were set out. The staff brought out our meals and we enjoyed them immensely! Along with our meal, we also got fresh juice.
If you get hungry during the day, the hotel also has a cafe that they own next door. As previously mentioned, there is a large grocery store just across the street, if you need to stock up on snacks or beverages.
Final Verdict
If you are looking for a conveniently located hotel, run by a friendly family with great food and comfortable rooms in La Ceiba, look no further than Casa Luisa! Although I only stayed for one night, I enjoyed it and would stay there again.
