The tour turned out to be a lot of fun AND a pretty good workout! Seriously, I was sweating by the end of it all. We traveled quite some distance throughout the tour and learned a bunch of interesting facts that I had never known (and neither had my Chicago native partner). One that really stuck out to me was that in 1915, the S.S. Eastland boat capsized on the river, killing 844 passengers. It is said that on the date of the ship’s sinking (July 24th), you can see and hear the ghosts of some of those dying passengers. I am so tempted to join the ghost hunters next July!

The guide was hilarious and personable, and we were accompanied by several other staff members who kept our group safe and all together. By the end it had grown dark, and we got amazing views of the city at night from the river. I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to experience Chicago from a different perspective!
