We all know the jingle. In fact, I can't see the word ‘Ricola‘ without singing in my head (read: out loud) their name in the all too familiar jingle – Riiiiiii co laaaaa. I was recently invited, along with other influencers in Bangkok, to a private event held on the rooftop of the beautiful Hotel Muse. At the event, I got to sample their products and learn more about the brand as they prepare to launch new packaging and products. It certainly turned out to be memorable night full of good food, music, and of course, Ricola candies.
When I arrived at Hotel Muse, I was whisked to the 24th floor in the elevator. Stepping out, I was greeted by the staff and showed to a bookcase, which hid the entrance to the rooftop bar. Upon pressing a button marked ‘Ricola,' which sang the famous jingle, the door opened and I entered into a small part of Switzerland in Bangkok!
Ricola is a family run company with just one factory in the whole world located in Switzerland. At the event, I had the pleasure of speaking to one of the herbists, who works closely with the 13 herbs found in each and every Ricola product. He explained to me that the herbs are all grown on Swiss mountain tops and are carefully farmed using natural and ecological farming methods. Each of the 13 herbs was available at the event for Influencers to smell and learn about. The herbist explained that each herb has a different use and effect in the product to help consumers who suffer from a cold and a cough. Fascinating stuff!
The rooftop at the Hotel Muse was full of Ricola products and all things Switzerland. A musician played Swiss instruments, even inviting event goers to try them out! While he played, I sampled the food and even tried a few cocktails with Ricola candies in them! I had not thought to put Ricola in a drink but it was incredibly tasty. In fact, the herbist mentioned to me that melting a Ricola in hot water was another excellent way to help with a cough and soothe your throat. Looking forward to trying that next time I am sick!
I had an amazing night with Ricola and loved meeting the other Influencers and the Ricola team. It was an honor to have been invited to their private event. I now have a new appreciation for Ricola and their products made from natural ingredients!
