Riverside Impression Villa, Hoi An, Vietnam: A Review

Hoi An is one of the cutest towns I have ever had the chance to visit. With a mix of French influences, ancient temples, and charming streets, it is hard not to fall in love. On my visit to Hoi An, a friend and I booked a few nights at Riverside Impression Villa. Located, unsurprisingly, on the river, this small hotel was the perfect place to rest up after days of exploring the Old Town of Hoi An!

Location

Riverside Impression Villa is a short 10 minute walk to the center of Hoi An and its Old Town, which is the highlight of any visit to the city. Although it is a very easy walk to the town, one of my favorite things about Riverside Impression Villa was the free bike rental. Hoi An is not large, but having a bike is a quick and easy way to see more of it. My friend and I rode around quite a bit on our bikes just exploring the city and its surroundings. We rode to a nearby beach as well as a pottery village not too far away. The added bonus of having the bikes for free made it even better. The staff provided complimentary locks for our bikes as well.

The Room

I booked a Superior Double Room which had a view of the pool, dining area, and the river just beyond. It was clean and comfortable, although the bed was a bit hard. This was something I noticed about most of the beds in Vietnam, though. The bathroom was spacious with a large shower and came with a few complimentary toiletries. The room came with the following:

The Facilities & Grounds

Riverside Impression Villa had a lovely pool and dining area along with a bamboo hut overlooking the river that was the perfect place to lounge. I spent an afternoon there soaking up the last few rays of the sun while reading a book and occasionally feeding the fish that were swimming below (fish food provided by the hotel!). Breakfast was included and served in the dining area with views of the river.

The hotel was not large, but still full of cute corners and perfect places to sit and relax. They had a swinging chair right next to a book shelf for some afternoon reading as well as plenty of lounge chairs for soaking in the views while enjoying a drink.

Final Verdict

If I ever return to Hoi An (and really I mean when I return), I will definitely be booking a stay at the Riverside Impression Villa again. In addition to being extremely affordable, the location was close yet far enough to be away from the noise for a quiet night's sleep. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help guests in any way they could. The hotel itself was full of great views and relaxing corners. All around a great little place in one of my favorite stops in Vietnam!
